    Accommodation
The forward cabin has two large single berths on a V-configuration with drawers and lockers under each berth. Outboard are full length shelves with overhead lockers at the forward end. Set in to the forward bulkhead is a see-through hatch in to the chain locker up in the bows. Aft on the port side is a door to the en-suite toilet compartment. On the starboard side aft is a dressing table, lockers and a
  • height hanging clothes locker with a useful shelf on top. Opening side windows let in plenty of natural light and fresh air and in the roof is an escape/ventilation hatch with its own privacy blind. The cabin is superbly finished in satin varnished teak, cream overhead linings and a dark green carpet. Full headroom is available throughout.

The en-suite toilet compartment has an electric WC mounted on a plinth against the after bulkhead. An Avonite topped vanity unit runs outboard under the side deck with a wash basin set in and a monobloc H&C tap. There are lockers below for toiletries and further lockers above directly under the opening side windows. A shower is located against the inner bulkhead aft and comes complete with a shower curtain. A teak shower grating is placed in the floor. As with the remainder of the vessel this area is superbly finished, light and airy.

Aft on the port side is the dinette and galley. A comfortable six seater U-shaped settee is located to port in front of which is a handsome teak dining table. This can be lowered and with the appropriate infill cushions inserted forms a double bed. There are lockers under the settee and a full length shelf above under the side window with lockers at either end and reading lights. Set in the after bulkhead here are doors accessing the back of the engine instrument panel of the wheelhouse above. Also mounted on this bulkhead are the central heating controls.

The galley runs along the starboard side of the saloon and has an Avonite worktop with removable tops covering the sink and cooker. Built in are a dishwasher, refrigerator and 4 burner gas cooker. Lockers and drawers under take care of cutlery, food and cooking utensils. Outboard under the side deck behind sliding teak panels are purpose built crockery and condiment lockers. The microwave oven is located forward of these sliding panels. Inset into the after bulkhead is the electrics panel controlling the generator and shore power support. The gas alarm is also placed here. Natural light streams in through the side windows which have opening hoppers for added ventilation.

Steps lead up into the wheelhouse and inside them are useful storage lockers for tools and spares. The main electrics panel for the vessel is located in the starboard companionway here.

The wheelhouse has the helm position to port and comprises of a Bramshey sprung seat complete with seat belt mounted in front of a comprehensive engine instrument display with the navigation equipment placed across the full width of the bulkhead. Visibility is excellent through the three part windscreen and deep opening side windows. A matching seat is to starboard. An overhead hatch is placed above each seat. Aft of the helm seat on the port side is a teak sideboard incorporating a drinks cabinet.

    Accommodation continued
On the starboard side is an extremely comfortable L-shaped settee with drawers under. Located on the after bulkhead is the Navtex weather information instrument, the radio cassette player and a locker into the steering head and instruments of the upper helm position. Two steps in the centre of the after bulkhead lead up to the aft deck. In the port after corner are steps leading down to the aft cabin which have lockers incorporated into them. A door and hatch here ensures privacy. In the roof of the wheelhouse are two teak grab rails. The television and video are inserted behind a teak locker front under the side deck on the port side aft and pull out on runners when required. With large side windows letting in plenty of light the wheelhouse is the natural centre of activity whether at sea or in port. The steps leading from the wheelhouse to the aft deck have 2 storage lockers incorporated into them. The aft cabin comprises of a double berth running down the port side with clothes lockers and hanging cupboards built in outboard under the side windows. The bed has a padded bedhead against the transom, drawers under and individual reading lights. Across the remainder of the transom is a teak dressing table with a comfortable padded seat in front and a mirror above. Additional lockers are placed here and these also run down the starboard side under the side windows. A cosy settee is located under here and ensures the cabin is a home from home. In the roof just forward of the transom is an escape/ventilation hatch with its own privacy blind. Inside the cabin entrance against the forward bulkhead is an extremely large hanging clothes locker. As with the other cabins large side windows create a light and airy interior. The en-suite toilet compartment is located in the forward corner of the aft cabin on the starboard side. Inside the electric WC is placed on a plinth against the forward bulkhead with lockers above for toiletries. The Avonite topped vanity unit with its wash basin and lockers under is placed in the after corner with a large mirror over. Outboard under the side deck are further lockers and a shelf. A separate shower stall is placed outboard of the WC and has a seat, shower controls, shower curtain, coat hooks, opening hopper window and a shelf. A teak shower grating is placed on the floor. This whole compartment is surprisingly spacious and beautifully finished. In the centre of the wheelhouse after bulkhead are teak double doors leading up to the teak laid aft deck The upper helm position here is to starboard and comprises of a single pedestal chair mounted in front of a comprehensive engine instrument display with the navigation aids grouped closely around. The instruments are protected by a see-through cover. Visibility is excellent through the forward facing windscreen. To port is a matching seat and this area can be covered by a sprayhood and backdrop when required. Very large teak topped GRP seat lockers are placed on each side of the upper deck and these have detachable cushions. They are spacious enough to swallow warps, spare anchor, outboard motors and much else. The aft deck is protected by a teak capped pushpit and this has a break in the centre of the transom to access the transom ladder down to the teak bathing platform. The stainless steel davits hold the Avon 2.9m RIB securely. Four pairs of stainless steel fender baskets are also located against the transom as are two horseshoe lifebuoys. The side decks are surrounded by stainless steel stanchions with a solid s/s top rail and single guard wire under. There are breaks port and starboard for entering and leaving the vessel. Stainless steel grabrails are fitted to the wheelhouse sides and on the top of the forward cabin. At the bow a stainless steel pulpit runs seamlessly into the side rails. A massive CQR anchor sits over the bow with its chain running back to the equally large and powerful Lofrans electric anchor winch. Suitable impressive mooring cleats are fitted, two on the foredeck, two pairs of spring cleats and two at the stern. The deck is covered in Treadmaster non-slip panels. The gunwhale is surrounded by 4 rubber D fendering to give maximum protection when coming alongside. Varnished teak badging is also attached to the hull sides and transom as befits a proper Nelson.

Over the years NELSON hulls have proved themselves time and time again in all weathers as the ultimate in sea going transport by the fishery protection authority, marine police, the RNLI and pilot authorities. Take that same hull, fitted out to an exacting and luxurious standard by SEAWARD MARINE, put in a pair of powerful Ford Sabre 370L turbo diesels and you have the ultimate go anywhere anytime motor yacht. SEAWARD SAPPHIRE is a magnificent example of the marque. She is realistically priced in order to achieve a sale in current market conditions.
